It really is. Not many people know that Leonard Nemoy was born an Orthodox Jew and his first language is yiddish.

I read one of Nimoy's books, and was very struck that he didn't seem to have a mean-spirited word for anyone. Especially in Hollywood, that's saying something.
He was a gentleman, and he will be missed.
